In Holzgau there are many painted houses, shops, and cosy restaurants. The Holzgau Suspension Bridge, Simms Waterfall, the carving school, the village square, and the local museums are our tourist spots. Many sporting activities, such as hiking, cycling, mountain climbing, mountain biking, rafting, paragliding, canyoning and much more are possible throughout the year.

 
Holzgau is located in the wide valley of the Lech Valley at an altitude of 1,100 metres. Holzgau is also called the pearl of the Lech Valley. Holzgau became famous because of the many frescoes on the houses. The Simms Waterfall and the longest free walkable Holzgau suspension bridge that is more than 200 metres long and about 106 metres high. The wide Lech Valley also offers fun for cyclists, and the side valleys of the Lech Valley are also accessible and suitable for mountain bikers. The Lechweg, the long-distance trail E5 and Via Alpina also go through Holzgau.
