Winter holiday in the Lechtal

Skiing this way

As colourful as you dare

Winter holiday

It's clear that skiers and non-skiers love to spend their winter holidays here. In addition to the nearby "Ski Arlberg" ski area, which is one of the top 10 in the world, the Lechtal Nature Park region opens up an adventure-packed winter world. This includes endless cross-country ski trails, cosy toboggan runs, guided summit ascents on touring skis, winter or snowshoe hikes in the midst of unspoilt nature.

Our hotel is the ideal starting point for holidaymakers who appreciate the originality, tranquillity and naturalness of the Lech Valley.

If you are out and about on the ski slopes today, you might want to be whisked away into the idyllic, white nature on a snowshoe hike tomorrow.

Which winter sport will it be today?

Winter hiking

Explore the beautiful landscape on foot or with snowshoes and enjoy your time out surrounded by nature. If you head off-piste on snowshoes, you will experience winter from a completely different perspective. Hike through the solitude of the white, glistening mountains and immerse yourself in nature. This is exactly how everyday life recedes into the distance and how you open your eyes to the here and now. Those who prefer hiking in the traditional style can explore the winter hiking trails in the Lechtal Nature Park region on their own. Nine cosy mountain huts and lodges invite you to linger. Each one unique and each one with a unique panoramic view

We are your contact for tour tips.
We are happy to organise guided snowshoe hikes with a mountain guide.

One tobogganing session please!

Sledging

Every winter holiday in the mountains includes a leisurely toboggan ride. The ideal companion for a winter hike, the toboggan takes you back down to the valley in style. If that doesn't bring back some childhood memories! A natural toboggan run awaits you right on the doorstep of the Hotel Gasthof Bären, which is fun even late at night with a toboggan taxi and floodlights.

Cross-country skiing

Cross-country and running. That's how we would describe the cross-country ski trails in the Lechtal Nature Park in a nutshell. With a total of 190 kilometres of trails, you don't always have to do the same loop. The valley can be explored comfortably on the narrow boards. The "Lechtalloipe" from Steeg to Forchach, with a length of 40 km, can be easily mastered in stages. The cross-country skiing and hiking bus takes you to the desired sections of the day free of charge.

Ski tours

Together with a guide, you can conquer the mountain peaks, enjoy breathtaking views and experience fantastic descents. The Lechtal and Allgäu Alps offer ski tours for beginners through to experienced alpinists.

Flushed with feelings of happiness and pride at having made it this far, the descent through an impressive white landscape is the highlight after a sweaty ascent.

If you haven't tried it yet, you've really missed out!

Taster courses and avalanche courses are offered weekly.

Ice skating & horse-drawn sleigh rides

Cosy or speedy iron. In Holzgau you can pirouette by day and by night. If you prefer something a little more relaxed, then a horse-drawn sleigh ride is just the thing.
